Downings hit five goals in tense win over Butlersbridge

Butlersbridge 2-10 Downings 5-4

DOWNINGS showed huge character and grit to claim a super win over Butlersbridge in the Ulster Junior Ladies Championship quarter-final today.

The sides were level at 1-5 to 2-2 at the break with Denise Doherty and Amy McLaughlin hitting the net.

There was real drama in Act Two, but a second goal for Doherty and a brace of three-pointers from Shannon McGroddy gave Downings a famous win in Cavan.
