Downings GAA bring ‘Helicopter Drop’ forward by one day

Downings GAA Club have brought their Helicopter Drop fundraiser forward by one day to Saturday, November 30.

The Helicopter Drop was scheduled to take place on Sunday week.

However, the club have now qualified for the All-Ireland Junior Championship semi-final, and their fixture against Kildare side Kilcock has been pencilled in for Sunday, December 1 at 1pm.

The club do not want a clash, so have brought the fundraiser forward by one day and it will now take place at 2pm on November 30.

Downings are raising funds to light up their club grounds with floodlights to help both their juvenile and adult teams to train during the winter months.

The fundraiser will see five footballs dropped from a helicopter onto the club’s pitch with prizes of €25,000, €5,000, €2,000, €2,000, and €1,000 up for grabs.
