TWO pupils at St Eunan’s College were celebrating this week after being awarded for having the joint best Construction Studies projects in the country for the 2024 Leaving Certificate.
Gabriel Gallagher and Peadar Breslin received certificates for their projects from both the TechnoTeachers Association and were also recognised with the same by their school. Principal of St Eunan’s Damien McGroary couldn’t hide his delight, commenting,
“The School is immensely proud of both the students and their teacher, Mr Ronan McCole of the Construction Department, who guided both Peadar and Gabriel through every step of their course; a huge testament to their dedication and hard work. To have the best project in the country come from your school is amazing in itself, but to have two is nearly beyond belief.
“Both Gabriel and Peadar are fine young men, dedicated to the pursuit of excellence and are now seeing the fruits of their labour.”

Mr McGroary thanked the pair for sharing their success with the community and the college when they returned this week to collect their certificates.
The next step in the pair’s journey sees Gabriel currently studying Aeronautical Engineering in Belfast while Peadar studies Marine Engineering in Cork. Peadar’s story is a bit of a family affair as his father, Teague, won the very same award when he studied Construction Studies in his own Leaving Cert, proving the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
