Double lotto luck

By Kate Heaney
THE estranged husband and wife from Letterkenny who won €500,000 between them in Saturday’s Lotto Plus 2 travelled on the same bus to Dublin on Tuesday to collect their cheques.
While former post office worker Pat O’Hagan was happy to share the news of his win, his estranged wife Margaret has chosen not to have any publicity.
The couple made Lotto history after the two winning tickets were purchased less than half a mile apart.
Despite being separated, they have been doing the same numbers since 1988. Mr O’Hagan bought his €4 ticket at Mac’s Mace on Saturday while Margaret, a former hospital worker, purchased the €12 winning ticket in The Paper Post.
Their trip to Dublin to claim their prizes brought much speculation to an end in the town as to who the second winner was.
Both shop owners, rightly predicted, that the winners were from the same family.
