Donegal’s wet weather dampens hopes for a glimpse of the blue supermoon

DONEGAL  has been drenched in rain and shrouded in clouds all day, but with the blue supermoon on the horizon tonight, we’re crossing our fingers for a lucky break in the weather, even if just for a glimpse.

However, Met Éireann warns that the wet and blustery conditions are here to stay, with light rain expected around sunset at 9 PM, and gusts ramping up to 36 km/h.

The rain will intensify slightly by 10 PM, with chances increasing to 35% and wind gusts peaking at 38 km/h, while temperatures hold steady around 14 degrees.

As the night progresses, rain showers will persist into the early morning.

The overnight hours will continue to see intermittent rain, with a 40% chance around midnight and decreasing slightly to 20% by 1 AM, though gusts will still reach up to 40 km/h.

By dawn, rain showers are expected to pick up again continuing into Tuesday with heavy rain showers and gusty conditions persisting throughout the morning and afternoon.

Temperatures will remain cool, hovering between 12 and 14 degrees, as rain showers dominate much of the day, easing slightly by the evening but still lingering into the night.
