DONEGAL’S Michael Harte will feature on RTÉ television tomorrow night after picking up a highly-prestigious Irish Film & Television Award (IFTA).
28 awards were handed out during a star-studded ceremony at the Royal Convention Centre in Dublin last night and Michael ensured that Donegal was not left out. He picked up the ‘Best Editing’ gong for his work on feature documentary ‘Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie’.
Much to the delight of all those in attendance, and the organisers of course, Oscar-winner Cillian Murphy turned up in person to pick up his ‘Lead Actor in a Film’ award for Christopher Nolan’s epic movie, Oppenheimer. Murphy also won in the ‘Best International Film’ category for the same project.
It’s certainly not the first time that proud Letterkenny man Michael Harte has been awarded for his excellence. In January, he secured the top spot for ‘Outstanding Picture Editing’ at the Emmys.
The son of Jimmy and Mary Harte, Michael has previously won a BAFTA for editing ‘Don’t F-k With Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer’. He has also worked on the critically acclaimed ‘Three Identical Strangers’ and ‘Beckham’, a documentary detailing the rise of former footballer, David Beckham.
You can watch Michael picking up his IFTA tomorrow night on RTÉ2 at 9.35pm.
