CAN a family from Donegal take the title Ireland’s Fittest Family?
Four families from the county have already taken part in the long-running RTE competition with the Gallagher family from Letterkenny getting to the final in 2022.
This week RTE launched a call-out to families in the county willing to have a go for the title.
They would follow the Ryan Family in season four who also got to the final.
The Furlong and Rooney Families who both took part in season six.
This is the twelfth year the competition will run and they are inviting families who think they are the “fittest, fastest and strongest families.”
Last year, rugby ace Donncha O’Callaghan coached the Stratfords from County Cavan to victory. “
Maybe this year it could be your family scaling the ramp for the title of Ireland’s Fittest Family.
“Does your family have what it takes to win €15,000 and be crowned Ireland’s Fittest Family? If so, apply now,” a spokesperson for the production team said.
The deadline for applications is Friday, April 26, 2024 at 11.55pm.
In order to qualify teams must have at least one male and one female member; A team can be made up of four immediate family members (a minimum of one parent/step-parent, one child), or if this isn’t possible, three immediate family members (as above) and an extended family member (Grandparent/First Cousin/Aunt/Uncle).
The minimum age to take part is 14 years old by June 1, 2024.
The series will be filmed between May and mid August 2024 and families will be required for up to eight filming days (mostly on location) over this period.
