Donegal woman to appear on First Dates tonight

THE secret is out, Donegal Town woman Sorcha Little is among a host of new singletons looking for love on RTE’s latest series of First Dates.

Sworn to secrecy, Sorcha kept her big TV debut under wraps until last week.

Coming as a shock to many, she will be taking to our screens tonight as the first episode of ‘First Dates’ airs on RTE2 at 9.30pm.

Stumbling across the application on her Facebook newsfeed, Sorcha said she applied for the show because she thought it would be a bit of craic.

“Donegal is a big county but if you go out with someone, everyone knows who you’re going out with. I went on the show to meet someone different, in a different environment. I thought going on the show would be a very unique way to meet someone,” she said.

Describing herself as a bubbly and chatty person, she spends most of her time re-building cars. Owning three cars of her own and having re-built two of them, it is safe to say Sorcha is car mad.

Applying for the show in July, Sorcha was hoping to meet someone who acted more as her best friend than her boyfriend.

With the application process moving faster than she thought, it wasn’t long before she was getting ready for her date.

Sorcha said from the day she applied to the day she was on the show, it was only a span of two weeks.

“It was filmed in July so there is a good gap between filming and the show coming out. I wasn’t allowed to tell anyone about the show until last week. The only ones that knew were my parents and they were sworn to secrecy, they weren’t even allowed to tell my sister or my brother.

“I couldn’t tell anybody but telling people ruins the fun of it,”she said.

TikTok

During the filming process, Sorcha documented her whole experience in TikTok vlogs which she plans to post after the episode airs to give viewers an exclusive behind the scenes look at First Dates.

Sorcha said the team she was working with done a great job of looking after her and keeping her nerves at bay.

Tune in to RTE2 tonight to find out if she will drop a gear and disappear or find herself a boy racer.
