DONEGAL should prepare for a wet and blustery night as heavy rain is set to dominate the weather, continuing into the early hours of Thursday.
Light rain will begin around 8 p.m., gradually intensifying as the night progresses.
According to Met Éireann, the weather will worsen overnight, with significant rainfall expected, accompanied by slightly stronger winds.
This combination will make for a damp and potentially uncomfortable night.
Thursday morning will bring some relief, but the skies will remain overcast. By 6 a.m., as dawn approaches, the heavy rain will start to taper off, leaving behind mostly cloudy skies.
Temperatures will reach highs of 12 degrees. By 7 a.m., most of the rain will have cleared, though the cloud cover will persist.
As the day progresses, the clouds will dominate, allowing only brief glimpses of the sun.
Temperatures will slowly climb, with a slight chance of a light shower around noon.
The afternoon will remain largely cloudy, and by late afternoon, light rain may return, especially after 4 p.m.
The evening will see a resurgence of rain, with the heaviest downpours expected between 7 and 8 p.m.
The day will end as it began, with overcast skies and persistent rainfall, so keeping an umbrella handy is advisable.
