A DONEGAL videographer picked up an award at the prestigious Irish Professional Photographers and Videographers Association (IPPVA) annual awards gala in Clontarf Castle on Sunday.
Conor Conlon from CMP Productions came in second place in the Wedding Videographer of the Year category at the awards.
Professional photographers and videographers from all over the country went head to head with judges from around the globe judging over 1400 images and many hours of video to establish the very best in professional image making in Ireland today. 54 finalists were in the running for one of the 16 titles, which include various specialities such as portrait, wedding, landscape, architectural, fine art, newborn, open creative and commercial the most distinguished, and celebrated being the over-all photographer of the year and the videographer of the year title.
Speaking after the awards ceremony Conor said “it’s an honour to even be shortlisted in the IPPVA Awards, so I’m absolutely delighted to have won the second place award, these are the most prestigious Photography & Videography awards in the country, the standard of entries is incredible with a really stringent judging process ”.
Conor originally from Co. Fermanagh is now based in Donegal, although he travels all over Ireland to shoot creative wedding films, Donegal holds the top spot in his eyes “Donegal offers some of the most stunning backdrops for shooting wedding films, one of the reason I moved to this part of the country, you’re never far from an epic location”.
