DONEGAL will open their 2014 National Football League Division 2 campaign with an away game against Laois on Sunday, February 2nd.
Donegal start their League campaign with back-to-back away games against Laois and Galway, as Jim McGuinness’s team head out west a week later on Sunday February 9th.
Donegal are in Division 2 again following their relegation from Division 1 earlier this year. Their opener sees them take on a Laois team whom they played in a round four qualifier this summer in the Championship, Donegal winning that clash 0-14 to 0-8 in Carrick-on-Shannon.
Donegal played Laois twice in Division 2 in 2011: Losing the final regular game in Portlaoise before beating the O’Moore County in the Division 2 final at Croke Park.
Donegal also face away games against fellow Ulster sides Down and Armagh.
The Tir Chonaill supporters must wait until Sunday March 2nd before they have a home League game and that one is a repeat of the 2013 Ulster final as Monaghan come to town. Donegal also have home games against Meath and Louth next year.
It is expected that Donegal’s three home games will be played at Sean MacCumhaill Park in Ballybofey.
The fixtures are provisional with dates, times and venues to be ratified by the Central Competitions Controls Committee.
