Donegal to miss out on sunshine

IT looks like Donegal will miss out on the majority of the sunshine this weekend.

Temperatures are expected to reach 24 degrees in parts of the country this week with a good weekend of sunshine expected in the south of country.

But unfortunately, Met Éireann doesn’t think Donegal will be basking in sunshine this weekend as rain and clouds are to stick around – but let’s hope they are wrong.

Friday is expected to be the best day with sunshine and clear skies forecast for the afternoon. Temperatures will reach around 18 degrees.

Looking ahead to the weekend, a spokesperson for Met Éireann said the “weather won’t be bad but it won’t be the best.”

“Saturday will be cloudy and nothing to write home about. It won’t be completely dry either with some showers around but temperatures will be around 16 and 17 degrees.

“Sunday will be a brighter with temperatures of 14 or 15 degrees.

“A northernly air is expected which will be cooler on the north coast. It wont be perishing or overly warm and there will be some showers too.”

Although, it’s not all bad news as temperatures look set to reach the low 20s next week with some spells of sunshine expected.
