Donegal to miss out on heat wave

By Dionne Meehan

AS high temperatures engulf Ireland in the coming days, Met Éireann said there are no signs of a heat wave for Donegal.

For many, the warm weather will come as a welcome respite after weeks of overcast skies and frequent rain.

In many parts of the country thermometers will soar to 24 degrees today, with the possibility of rising further by Wednesday.

However, this will not be the case for Donegal.

Today will be a mostly cloudy day with the chance of some patchy rain or drizzle moving through from time to time. Top temperatures today will be 18 degrees.

It looks set to be mostly dry on Tuesday with a mix of cloud and sunny spells with maximum temperatures of 19 degrees.

On Wednesday, the weather will be fairly warm and humid with occasional sunny spells and the chance of a few afternoon showers. We will see highs of 18 to 21 degrees.

Scattered showers are expected on Thursday however we will see some bright spells throughout the day with maximum temperatures of 21 degrees.

Current indications for Friday and over the weekend show fresh and breezy conditions with rain and showers pushing in from the Atlantic at times. Typical daytime temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees are expected.
