Donegal to meet Down in Championship at O’Donnell Park

Donegal’s Ulster Senior Championship quarter-final with Down will take place at O’Donnell Park.

The pitch at MacCumhaill Park is currently being redeveloped and won’t be ready in time for the Ulster Championship.

There was some surprise when it was confirmed that Jim McGuinness’s men will play two of their NFL matches in Fr Tierney Park, Ballyshannon (Kerry and Galway) while Mayo will come to Letterkenny on February 15.

However, O’Donnell Park will host the big Championship clash with Down and the game will take place on Sunday, April 26. The time of the match has yet to be confirmed.

Donegal played Down in the Ulster semi-final last season and defeated Conor Laverty’s men by six points.

If McGuinness’s charges win their quarter-final, the semi-final against Fermanagh/Armagh/Tyrone will be held on Sunday, May 3.
