A SPOKESPERSON from Met Éireann said he wouldn’t have any confidence in Donegal receiving snow this weekend.
This comes after much speculation that more wintery weather was on its way.
Instead, the spokesperon confirmed that Donegal was set to receive the best of the sunshine in the country this weekend.
Despite this sunshine, temperatures are set to be “ much cooler than they have been recently with a chance of temperatures dropping below freezing each night.
“Each night has the chance of freezing temperatures overnight with the coldest night being Saturday with temperatures going down to minus two,” the spokesperson added.
As a result, Donegal County Council will be gritting all designated routes from 8pm tonight.
The council is urging the public to drive with caution this morning and to assume that no road is ice free.
