Donegal 1-16 Armagh 0-12
Donegal swatted Armagh aside in MacCumhaill Park today to book their spot in the Ulster Championship semi-final.
There was huge anticipation coming into the match but Declan Bonner’s team were much too strong.
It was nip-and-tuck in the first quarter, and the sides were level after 21 minutes.
Donegal dominated the Armagh kick-out and they were able to push ahead, but they also missed a lot of chances.
Patrick McBrearty and Ciaran Thompson kicked points late in the half and Donegal were 0-9 to 0-6 ahead at the break.
Armagh upped their intensity in the second half but Donegal held them out.
Shane O’Donnell then kicked a point before Patrick McBrearty palmed in a goal in the 47th minute.
Donegal were able to control proceedings after that and scores from McBrearty, Langan, Michael Murphy and Conor O’Donnell saw Donegal run out comfortable winners.
Declan Bonner’s team will now take on Cavan in the Ulster Championship semi-final on Sunday, May 8.
