A DONEGAL student who is hoping to be elected as Welfare Officer at Dublin City University is drawing considerable attention from across the country with his unique campaign video.
The 20-year-old final year law student from Burt has parodied the topical box-office smash hit Fifty Shades of Grey, but instead has renamed it ‘Fifty Shades of Domhnaill’ – and given it a unique Donegal twist.
With his friend, Mary-Claire Fitzpatrick – who also plays a rather convincing Anastasia – Domhnaill has found a way to raise some of the major issues on which he is contesting the campaign.
He was previously a member of Donegal Youth Council and also worked alongside SpunOut.ie which promotes positive mental health, one of the issues Domhnaill hopes to work on and promote if he is elected.
Other issues in his election manifesto include lowering fees for visiting the university doctor as well as regular free STI checks.
