Donegal start NFL campaign with victory in Ennis

Donegal got their league campaign off to an excellent start with a victory over Clare in Ennis today.

Declan Bonner’s team led by 0-10 to 0-8 at half-time with Michael Langan kicking four points.

Donegal’s shooting was terrible in the third quarter, but they kept to their task and established a three-point lead with ten minutes of normal time remaining.

Clare reduced their deficit to one point heading into eight minutes of injury-time, but Donegal stayed calm and Hugh McFadden kicked a crucial late score.

Jason McGee added another score as Donegal closed the game out impressively to collect two valuable league points.
