ANTHONY Molloy, Captain of the 1992 All Ireland winning Donegal team, will officially open the Donegal Sporting Heroes Exhibition at An tSean Bheairic, Falcarragh this Thursday, June 19 at 6.30pm.
This exhibition, on loan from Donegal County Museum in partnership with the Donegal Sports Partnership, celebrates our own sporting heroes from Donegal with a wish to inspire our next generation of sporting stars.
The exhibition features our sporting greats from County Donegal who have achieved success at a national or an international level, in a wide variety of sporting fields from All Ireland Winners in GAA to World Champion Tug of War teams!
The exhibition has a particular local interest as it prides the first ever winners of All Ireland Handball competition winners from Donegal, Singles Competition winner Áine Kelly (RIP) and Doubles competition winners Máire Kelly and Margaret Gallagher.
The exhibition will continue throughout the month of June. Fáilte roimh gach duine chuig an oscailt. Tuilleadh eolais: facebook: Falcarragh Visitors Centre.
Donegal Sporting Heroes’ exhibition gives County Donegal an opportunity to celebrate, question and debate all its own sporting heroes past and present with many significant achievements and developments over the years.
Many of these sporting heroes are household names not just in County Donegal but all across the sporting world and they represent a sample of the positive relationship with Donegal and sport. This exhibition is a partnership between the Donegal County Museum and the Donegal Sports Partnership.
