Clare 1-4 Donegal 0-7
Donegal ladies captain Róisín Rodgers rescued a draw late on for her side in their opening Division 2 game against Clare in Clarecastle.
Donegal had the breeze in the opening half and were leading for the majority of the first period, Shannon McLaughlin getting them off to a good start while Eva Gallagher and Cáit Gillespie also kicked points from play.
Susanne White’s two frees had them 0-5 to 0-2 ahead at the break, but an Ailish Considine goal put Clare ahead with 15 minutes to play.
Gallagher levelled before Fidelma Marrian put the hosts ahead on 59 minutes, but after Chloe Moloney was penalised for over-carrying, Donegal got one last chance in the fifth minute of added time.
And it was captain Rodgers burst through the tackle and fired over a laces shot to seal the draw in James Daly’s first game in charge.
