The Fintown to Glenties road this evening

The Fintown to Glenties road this evening

DONEGAL County Council gritter lorries are working hard this evening to ensure that main roads throughout Donegal remain passable.
Heavy snow fell in the Fintown, Ardara, Glenties areas of Donegal from early afternoon while the notorious Meenaory stretch of road between Letterkenny and Fintown was also covered in a dusting of snow.
Meanwhile, a recovery lorry was still trying to pull a rigid lorry which left the road outside Fintown from a ditch outside Fintown this evening.
Met Eireann has issued a snow and ice warning for counties Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo.
Forecasters expect between four and eight centimetres of snow tomorrow, with high ground set to be worst affected.
Met Eireann have issued a Status Orange weather warning, which remains in place until 11pm on Thursday night.
