Donegal rescue team given €83,000 for response vehicle

DONEGAL has been allocated €128,688 for two community vehicles under the 2025 CLÁR programme.

Donegal Mountain Rescue Team based in Lifford is to receive €83,701 to purchase a rescue emergency response vehicle, while Drimarone Development CLG in Donegal Town is getting €44,987 to buy a mobility transport/cancer care vehicle.

The Donegal allocation is part of a national funding package of €1.7 million to deliver 32 vehicles under the 2025 CLÁR programme announced by the Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary.

Welcoming the announcement, Donegal Minister of State, Charlie McConalogue said: “These two Donegal organisations do a huge amount of great work in our local communities.

“These new vehicles will help them to continue that, thus ensuring vulnerable people in our county have the supports they need.

“I’d like to thank Minister Calleary for his help in securing the funding for these two excellent community organisations.”
