Donegal prove too strong for Meath

Meath 0-7 Donegal 3-8

Donegal picked up their first win of the league campaign after they proved much too strong for Meath at Pairc Tailteann today.

Meath started well and went 4-1 up while Michael Murphy saw a penalty saved by Marcus Brennan in the 16th minute.

However, the visitors improved late in the half with Odhran McFadden-Ferry scoring a super goal, and Murphy made amends for his earlier miss, by nailing a spot-kick in the 33rd minute.

HT: Meath 0-4 Donegal 2-2

Donegal made a great start to the second half and Michael Langan palmed in a goal before Jamie Brennan notched a point.

Meath were very disappointing and they could only get to within seven points of their opponents after that.

Donegal closed the game out with points from Michael Langan, Niall O’Donnell and Murphy, they will take confidence from this win before they face Galway in O’Donnell Park next week.
