Donegal player ratings against Derry

SHAUN PATTON: Super double save from Shane McGuigan’s penalty. Great kick outs for all but one in the first half. One poor kick in the second half allowed Conor Doherty get a two pointer but overall the St Eunan’s man did well. 8.5

FINNBARR ROARTY: Took time to settle as Lachlan Murray started well but made a great block from Ethan Doherty and overturned McGuigan. Played higher up second half and fisted over a point. 7

CAOLAN McGONAGLE: Made a good tackle early on but went down injured and Derry hit the net with him off the pitch. Blocked a goal ward shot from Brendan Rogers in the second half. 7

ODHRAN McFADDEN-FERRY: Relatively quiet in the first half, other than a good run and pass to set up McHugh for a point. Subbed at half-time in his first game back for three years. 6.5

HUGH McFADDEN: Harshly penalised for a free that Derry converted but no complaints when giving away the penalty, battled well for kick-outs, particularly in the second half. 7

CIARAN THOMPSON: Started slow but did well from Derry restarts and won the kick-out that ended in Ó Baoill’s goal. Had a very good second half as he won a lot of high balls. 7.5

DAIRE Ó BAOILL: Two brilliant two pointers before a super goal, less of an influence in the second half but a worthy Man of the Match. 9

SHANE O’DONNELL: Bright start with an early turnover and point, causing bother with his pace. Added a second score in the second half before a great run to set up Mogan. 8.5
