It was a day of much emotion in the offices of the Donegal News in Letterkenny as staff members, past and present, gathered to say goodbye to the Managing Director of North West News Group, Dominic McClements.
A native of Omagh, Dominic retires from the company on Wednesday, 41 years to the date he first joined on September 17, 1984.
A former editor of our sister papers, the Fermanagh Herald, Ulster Herald and Strabane Chronicle, Dominic has been Managing Director of North West News Group since 2015.
He was delighted to meet up with some of his former colleagues who called in to our Letterkenny office today to offer their own good wishes to Dominic.
Also in attendance was Cllr. Ciaran Brogan, Mayor of Letterkenny-Milford Municipal District, who paid tribute to Dominic and the team at the Donegal News. He said the newspaper continues to play an important role in the local community and thanked Dominic for his many years of dedicated service to the media industry in the north west.
