Act Two was a finely poised affair and the Mourne County dealt with the man deficit well.
Down managed battle back and they led by the minimum as we entered the closing stages, with Josh O’Hagan palming home a goal for his side.
Down were dealt a further blow as the clock entered red as they were reduced to 13 men when Brogan Clarke was shown a straight red card.
With a two-man advantage, Lacey’s men dominated possession in stoppage time and three successive scores courtesy of Mark Anthony McGuinness, Callum Dorian and Evan Duffy saw them over the line.
