Antrim 0-17
Donegal 0-17
The Donegal and Antrim minor footballers were inseparable in Dunsilly on Saturday afternoon, with the two sides finished level at 0-17-0-17 in the Ulster Minor League.
The hosts landed the first two scores of the contest, with Shea McFerran and Daire Thornbury finding the target.
However, the next four scores came from the visitors courtesy of Mark Anthony McGuinness, Danny Og Cooney and Darragh O’Hare.
Antrim would land another four points in Act One but further scores for Donegal from O’Hare (3), Tadhg McDaid, Lewis Cunnea and Callum Dorrian gave them a four-point cushion at the break.
Half-time: Antrim 0-6-0-10 Donegal
Karl Lacey’s side extended their advantage to six after the restart, with McDaid firing over a pair of frees but the Saffron County responded with three of their own to half the deficit.
Antrim continued to battle and they forced themselves them at 0-15-0-15 entering the closing five minutes of play.
The impressive Darragh O’Hare was accurate from frees on Saturday and landed a further two either side of a Sionan McCormack white flag for Antrim.
Lacey’s men tried to hold out their slender advantage, with the clock deep into injury time however, a point from Daire Thornbury in the last play of the game earned Antrim a share of the spoils.
