Donegal man dies after being struck by a vehicle

A Donegal man has tragically died after being struck by a vehicle in Galway.

The man, who has been named locally as Mark McDaid, was from Carndonagh. He was killed after being hit by a car while out for a walk on Sunday morning on the N83 at Cahervoley, Cummer, near Tuam.

It is understood Mr McDaid had driven to Galway to visit an ill sibling in hospital when the tragedy unfolded.
