IT has been confirmed that one of the two lorry drivers killed in an early morning crash in County Monaghan this morning is from Donegal.
The man, believed to be in his early thirties is understood to be from the outskirts of Letterkenny.
The accident happened at approximately 6am on the N2 between Carrickmacross and Castleblayney.
Both male drivers of the two trucks involved were fatally injured in the crash. They were the sole occupants of each of the vehicles.
The stretch of the N2 is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Investigators and local diversions are in place. It is expected that the road will remain closed until later today.
