Donegal libraries invite you to take a closer look on public libraries day

Donegal County Library Service is gearing up for National Public Libraries Day on Saturday, 28th September 2024, encouraging locals to Take a Closer Look at the free resources and services available at their libraries.

With Central Library in Letterkenny, Buncrana Community Library, Bundoran Community Library, Carndonagh Community Library, and Leabharlann Phobail na Rosann all taking part, members of the community are invited to visit and explore a variety of facilities on offer.

From the Sensory Pod in Bundoran to the innovative Tovertafel available in Central and Buncrana Libraries, there’s something for everyone. Additionally, staff will be on hand to guide visitors through the range of available online resources, including numicon, C-pens, noise-cancelling headphones, and social stories.

A major highlight of the day is Buncrana Community Library’s My Open Library service, which offers extended opening hours from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., 365 days a year. This service allows members to access the library for printing, computer use, reading, and study needs. If you’re interested in signing up for this extended access, the friendly staff at Buncrana Library will be happy to assist.

If you can’t make it to a library on the day, don’t worry, Donegal libraries are available online.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on 28th September, staff will be ready to answer your questions via Facebook Messenger, email, or phone. You can also visit your local library anytime to discover their many offerings.
