Donegal landmarks feature in hit new Netflix series

VIEWERS have been excited to see Donegal strongly feature in the new comedy thriller, How To Get To Heaven From Belfast.

The series by Derry Girls creator Lisa McGee launched worldwide on Netflix last week and is currently sitting at one of the most watched shows on the streaming platform.

It features familiar locations across the county including the iconic Sacred Heart Church in Dunlewey whihc sits at the foot of Errigal, the stunning Poisoned Glen and the scenic Mamore Gap along the side of Urris Hills in the Inishowen Peninsula.

The eight episode series follows three teenage friends, now in their late thirties, who have reunited after the death of an old classmate turns a wake into a dark mystery.

They embark on a thrilling adventure across Ireland, including the winding roads of rural Donegal, piecing together enigmatic truths amid complicated lives.

The star studded cast includes Roisin Gallagher, Sinéad Keenan, Caoilfhionn Dunne, Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Emmett J Scanlan and Ardal O’Hanlon.

In an interview Lisa McGee spoke about the twisty-turny roads of rural Donegal and how their journey represents the story and each of the paths taken by the characters.
