Donegal 1-9 Westmeath 1-3
Donegal ladies returned to winning ways with a six point win against Westmeath in O’Donnell Park.
John McNulty’s side were 0-5 to 0-1 up at the break with a strong wind blowing across the pitch that made scores hard to come by but Eva Gallagher, Katie Dowds (2), Nicole Gordon and a Susanne White free gave them a good lead.
Gordon, Tara Hegarty, Jodie McFadden and Dowds added points in the second half for a seven point lead but a goal from Vicky Carr brought the game back into a contest with minutes to go.
But as Westmeath pushed up, Donegal found space in added time and a quick move which saw Niamh McLaughlin find White and the Killybegs forward found the bottom corner.
