Monaghan fought back well with Ellen McCarron in good form, but a third goal from Geradline McLaughlin left Donegal in control at the break.

HT: Donegal 3-5 Monaghan 0-9

McLaughlin fired in another goal in the 33rd minute as Donegal put some daylight between the teams.

Monaghan needed goals, but they couldn’t find any, and Michael Naughton’s team held on for glory.
