Donegal Hospice is set to temporarily relocate to the new Letterkenny Community Nursing Unit later this year while renovations take place at its current facility.
The announcement of this temporary move was made during this week’s Regional Health Forum meeting.
The extension and refurbishment of the existing Donegal Hospice facility in Knocknamona, Letterkenny, were approved in February 2024.
The proposed development includes the construction of four new apartments to accommodate patients and their families.
These additional spaces will provide a supportive and compassionate environment during their time at the hospice.
In addition to the apartments, the development will also feature new rooms for services such as Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and Social Work, as well as facilities for training and education.
