Donegal 4-22 Monaghan 1-10
DONEGAL are through to the Nicky Rackard Cup Final in Croke Park after they hammered Monaghan in Owenbeg today.
Mickey McCann’s team got off to a great start with Davin Flynn and Kevin Campbell scoring goals within the opening six minutes.
Monaghan responded with a fine goal from Mark Treanor, but Flynn, Jamesie Donnelly, and Declan Coulter were all on the mark as Donegal opened up a 2-12 to 1-3 lead at half-time.
The Farney county scored the first three points of the second half, but that good work was undone when Flynn grabbed his second goal in the 41st minute.
Kevin Crawley got sent off for Monaghan, and Donegal pushed on with their numerical advantage and scored four unanswered points.
Donegal closed the game out in style with Caolan McDermott adding a fourth goal and they went on to win by 21 points
McCann’s side will face Warwickshire in the Nicky Rackard Cup Final on Saturday, June 23 in Croke Park.
