The Donegal senior team are gearing up for a crunch relegation decider with Mayo in MacCumhaill Park this Sunday.

Anything other than a win for Declan Bonner’s team will see them drop down to the second tier next season.

Donegal have a proud record in Ballybofey and haven’t lost there since 2010.

However, Mayo will be formidable opponents, and it’s sure to be a lively battle on Sunday.

“It all boils down to the last game, and a couple of weeks ago, you’d have taken this scenario where a win against Mayo would have kept you up,” said Bonner.

“It’s a huge game, and it’s a big opportunity for us after what has been a challenging few weeks.

“We have faced injuries and illness, and things going against us at times, and it’s a young panel, with a lot of lads getting their first taste of intercounty football.

“But we’re still in there battling away, and this weekend is winner takes all.

“Our target during the league has been to stay up, and that’s what we will be looking to do.”
