Donegal finalist hoping for success at this week’s National Dairy Awards

DONEGAL has a finalist in this year’s National Dairy Awards recognising the quality and talents of the county’s dairy farmers and vets.

The dairy sector is the jewel of the Irish agricultural industry but it is facing many challenges.

The National Dairy Awards recognise and celebrate those who have embraced these challenges and are driving the sector on to a brighter and sustainable future.

The Donegal finalist in this year’s Norbrook Dairy Vet of the Year competition is Lesley Trenier.

Lesley, has a keen interest in dairy matters in particular herd health and preventative medicine, striving to enable the farmers to help themselves in both small dairy farms and large dairy farms.

She has undertaken extensive consultations with dairy farmers to create herd health plans and to ensure they are targeted towards the individual farms.

The second National Dairy Awards gala evening presentations will take place in the Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise on Thursday June 13.
