Donegal filmmaker releases debut sci-fi novel

DONEGAL filmmaker and author Ciarán McCann has officially launched his debut sci-fi fantasy, Ravage: A Psycho Hunter Novel.

Best known as the co-founder of Re-Act Productions, McCann has made a name for himself in the Irish film industry alongside longtime collaborator Shaun Doogan.

The duo has won accolades, including Best Music Video at the Underground Cinema International Film Festival for their project Night of the Daniels.

Now, McCann brings his cinematic storytelling skills to the literary world with Ravage, a gripping sci-fi fantasy novel set in a dystopian future.

“I’ve always been passionate about storytelling, whether through film or writing,” said McCann.

“Ravage is a high-intensity sci-fi fantasy with plenty of action, suspense, and an immersive world. I can’t wait for readers to experience it,” he said.

Ravage propels you into a fast-paced, action-packed ride, immersing you in a rich world of lore and vibrant characters, as you follow the deranged rampage of Ravage, a psychotic bounty hunter, on his relentless quest through the lands of the Kingdom to assassinate the Omni-King.

McCann’s journey into publishing reflects his drive to explore new creative frontiers while continuing to produce innovative film projects through Re-Act Productions.

His work remains deeply connected to his roots in Donegal, and he hopes to inspire other local creatives to pursue their artistic ambitions.

To celebrate the launch, a special book event will be held at Bridge Inn, Dungloe, on March 21. Readers are invited to attend, meet the author, and get their copies signed.
