Donegal Down Syndrome to celebrate super Seán

THE Donegal branch of Down Syndrome Ireland is gearing up for World Down Syndrome Day on March 31.

Ahead of the big day, the branch is shining a spotlight on one of their wonderful members Seán Boyle from Arranmore, who has just turned 18.

Seán demonstrates remarkable commitment by traveling from Arranmore Island by ferry every Saturday to participate in the Ability Counts exercise programme. He is also an active participant in the branch’s teen events.

Seán, a student at Gairmscoil mhic Diarmada, has successfully completed the Bord Iascaigh Mhara Basic Training Course, opening potential career opportunities in maritime industries.

He has also written and published “Seán’s Guide to First Aid,” donating all €2,000 in proceeds to Down Syndrome Ireland’s Donegal branch.

The branch offers a variety of helpful services and fun activities for those in Donegal, including speech therapy, physiotherapy, neurodevelopment therapies, swimming, horse riding, and much more.

Join the Donegal branch this World Down Syndrome Day, March 21, to celebrate people with Down syndrome all over the world.

The branch is having a big party at the Silver Tassie Hotel in Letterkenny on March 23.

This year’s theme is Support Our Dreams.

Everyone has the right to support and the right to dream big.
