Donegal 0-9 Mayo 1-17
Donegal are doomed to relegation from Division 1 after Mayo easily swatted them aside in MacCumhaill Park today.
Paddy Carr’s men do still have a mathematical chance of survival but it would take a highly unlikely series of events to see that come through.
The home side started reasonably well and three Ciaran Thompson scores had them level by the 18th minute.
However, Mayo totally dominated the second quarter and were 0-11 to 0-6 up at half-time.
Donegal needed a bright start to the second half but it was Mayo who grabbed a goal through Ryan O’Donoghue.
Mayo totally dominated after that as Donegal went twenty minutes without a score before Oisin Gallen pointed.
They added two more points but went down tamely as Mayo recorded an impressive win.
