DONEGAL dance group Elite Dance Academy are celebrating after being crowned All Ireland Hip Hop champions.
The Buncrana and Letterkenny based dance school travelled to Tralee, County Kerry on October 20 for the Spectrum Dance Events All Ireland Hip Hop Championships.
“Teachers Clare mc Carron and Aoife Mc Eleney we’re so proud of them after the months of hard work, commitment and dedication they put in, we were ready to take the dancefloor,” said a spokesperson for the Academy.
“One of the highlights of the hip hop dance scene is that our dancers have friends from all over and love meeting up at competitions.”
After three days of competing against the best dancers in Ireland, Elite Dance Academy cleaned up.
“Our youngest dancer was Miss Chloe Mc Kinley who is only three and she placed an amazing 4th place,” added the spokesperson.
“Our Teacher Clare’s son Oakley Mc Carron is now the Under 6 All Ireland Hip Hop Champion and Double Champion with his dance partner Julia after placing an amazing 1st in both dances.
“We are so proud of each and every one of our dancers who competed over the weekend. And we are extremely grateful to our dance parents and guardians who take their dancers to and from training. We had a fantastic group of parents travel to Tralee with us for the All Irelands.”
An incredible 41 trophies came home to the hills of Donegal after incredible performances over the weekend.
For now it’s back to the training for the group as they prepare for their next competition, The Inishowen Hip Hop Championships on November 26 and their upcoming Christmas Show ‘The Grinch’.
