THE Council meeting that had to be adjourned last week due to councillors ‘squabbling’ will reconvene tomorrow morning at 11am.
Last Monday, the monthly Donegal County Council meeting was adjourned after tensions boiled over and a row broke out among members. Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council Jack Murray attempted to maintain control of the meeting but was forced to mute councillors several times as they spoke over each other and argued.
The meeting was primarily adjourned for 45 minutes but when it resumed, Cllr Murray adjourned it until tomorrow (Monday, July 26). The councillors had only reached item three on a 35 item agenda, and had failed to register a vote on the Local Property Tax rate in 2022.
Cllr Murray called for the councillors to reflect and regroup ahead of the meeting tomorrow morning.
