DONEGAL County Council has approved its 2026 budget this evening, confirming that commercial rates will remain unchanged.
To stay within the initial €224 million budget, the council will cut spending across several areas including tidy towns projects, housing maintenance an climate action programmes.
Today’s annual budget meeting had previously been adjourned twice, most recently yesterday morning so that members could attend the funeral of the former County Manager, Michael McLoone.
