Donegal celebrates high quality of living on 5th July

DO you enjoy leisure activities in Donegal such as walking in the many parks, participating in arts, culture and heritage events, taking in the beauty of the beaches, waterways and appreciating the local environment around you?

The 5th July this year marks a celebration of these amenities as Donegal County Council will profile the wonderful services and amenities that Donegal has to offer.

‘Your Council Day’ is a national event which takes place on social media platforms on 5th July when local authorities around the country will highlight the work they do in making their areas better places to live. They will also highlight the work of committed and passionate staff in the councils.

“On Your Council Day, Donegal County Council is very proud to highlight, promote and celebrate our role in positively impacting people’s quality of life,” said Chief Executive John G. McLaughlin “Our staff are committed to helping people enjoy a very positive, high-quality experience within the county’ he said.

Councils are responsible for protecting our living environments, including street cleaning, litter control, monitoring of waterways and beaches, urban and village renewal schemes, and maintenance of our roads and footpaths, all of which contributes to a positive impact on local people’s quality of life, wellbeing and health.
