The hugely successful 2024 Donegal Camino will feature on RTE Nationwide this Wednesday (January 15) on RTE One at 7pm.
RTE Nationwide followed the 2024 Donegal Camino on one of its most poignant days, when walkers literally walked on water from St Mary’s Church Kincasslagh across Cruit beach to the stunning Donegal Gaeltacht island, Oileáin na Cruite – Cruit Island.
In addition, RTE Nationwide went to the Cancer Care West Support Centre in Letterkenny to meet both the hard working team, Donegal patients and their families who’re undergoing their personal cancer journey.
The 2024 Donegal Camino raised €122,145.30, a record breaking sum. 735 people walked over the 7 days of what is now the leading walking festival in Ireland.
The heartwarming feature shows the essence of good volunteerism, community spirt and the development of walking tourism which supports the delivery of Cancer Care West services in a fun way, with the warm and welcoming personality of the people of Donegal.
Donegal Camino 2025 will take place from Sunday, August 31 to Saturday, September 6 2025, again walking from Ireland’s highest point in Inishowen to Europe’s highest seacliffs, Sliabh Liag in Southwest Donegal.
The full itinerary will be announced in Spring 2025, and in the meantime you can register your interest for 2025 at register@donegalcamino.ie as places will be limited to 100 walkers per day in 2025.
