Donegal barman wins All Ireland cocktail competition

DONEGAL bartender Padraig Storey has won an All Ireland Cocktail making competition. The Ballyshannon native, who works in The Front Door Pub in Galway has been crowned All Ireland Cocktail Making Champion after winning the national final of the Jameson Barrelman Challenge.

Padraig has been working in the City Centre bar for almost a year and will now go on to represent Ireland at the International leg of the competition. This will be held in the prestigious Jameson Distillery in Midleton, County Cork on Tuesday, June 26.

The winning cocktail ‘The Kiwi Mate’ is made with a combination of Jameson Caskmate IPA, 8 Degrees Citra beer, passion fruit, honey and lemon, garnished with fresh kiwi.

To celebrate the achievement, The Kiwi Mate, will be served on the cocktail menu at The Front Door Pub this weekend so customer can sample the award winning drink.

The team at The Front Door Pub would like to congratulate Padraig and wish him the very best of luck next week.
