A DONEGAL man has recorded an ode to Irish Mixed Martial Artist Conor McGregor who has risen to international stardom over the past two years. Sailor Bill have just released their song Who’s The King showing their appreciate for the Dubliner who is also known as The Notorious.
With a hint of the Italia 90 anthem, Put ’em Under Pressure the song is sure to get as lot of air play in the lead-up to the Straight Blast Gym (SBG) man’s Ultimate Fighting Championship World Featherweight title fight next month.
McGregor is due to face current champion, Brazilian Jose Aldo at UFC 189 in Las Vegas on July 11 and has not been out of the news over the past few days with injury rumours spreading and putting doubt into some people’s minds that Aldo will be fit to compete.
Who’s The King was composed by band member Joseph Gibson, while the song was recorded at Full Tilt Studios with Tommy Conway in Letterkenny. Other members of the band are Mark McHugh who recorded the video and Kevin Monaghan.
The musicians are well-known in the north-west, not only as a cover band, but also recently bringing their original music to the public.
