TWO Donegal apartments sparked a bidding war at an online auction on Tuesday as six properties in the county going under the hammer all sold.
Apartment 69, Atlantic Point Apartments, Atlantic Way, Bundoran, eventually sold for almost double its guide price at the BidX1 auction.
The third floor two bedroom apartment came with a guide price of €40,000 and the property is subject to a tenancy at a current rent of €3,600 per annum. However that did not deter bidders and after seven bidders went head to head, it eventually sold for €73,000.
A second apartment within the same complex, Apartment 41, a first floor two bedroom apartment, also attracted considerable interest. Again, the property is subject to a tenancy at a current rent of €3,600 per annum, but after multiple bids from four interested parties it sold for €67,000.
Elsewhere, a four-bed home at 15 Greenfields in Convoy which came with a guide price of €60,000 sold for €86,000 after five bidders went head to head. Extending to approximately 120 sq. m (1,292 sq. ft) the detached four bedroom two-storey house requires refurbishment.
A mid terrace three-bedroom house at 40 Lough Fern Height, Forquar, Milford, which had a €40,000 guide price, also attracted considerable interest. It eventually sold for more than double its guide price, reaching €81,000.
A detached three-bedroom property 23 Beechwood Park in Lifford sold on the first bid for the guide price of €65,000.
Similarly, a large six bedroom detached house on Glenties Main Street which requires refurbishment sold on the first bid reaching its €60,000 price tag.
