Donegal agency up for prestigious national award

PUBLIC relations firm Inis Communications has become the first Donegal agency to be shortlisted for a national Excellence in PR Award.  ‘It’s our first time to enter so we’re totally surprised but absolutely delighted’, says Inis Communications director, Trish Hegarty.

The agency is shortlisted in the Environment, Social and Governance category in the awards which are run by the Public Relations Institute of Ireland (PRII)  and the Public Relations Consultant Association (PRCA).

Inis Communications entered the awards with their campaign for the Traveller-led social enterprise, Bounce Back Recycling. BBR recycle mattresses sustainably to divert them from landfill. They are one of a growing number of clients the Inishowen-based agency now serves in Galway.

“Although we are growing, we are small compared to the large city-based agencies who compete in these awards,” says Trish. “So, it means a lot to get this kind of recognition from our peers. We’re also very proud to represent Inishowen and Donegal at a national level.”

The Inis team includes ATU media graduate, Beth Reynolds from Greencastle who said she loves the variety of the work “Whether I’m crafting a campaign for a local business or collaborating with national organisations, no two days are the same’ she said.

Account Director Connell Kennedy from Ardara previously held senior roles in PR agencies in Dublin, Vancouver, and Auckland. Speaking about his work with Inis he said ‘We work with wide-ranging clients across the public and private sectors. It means there is great variety, and the job is always interesting.”

The award could not have come at a better time for the agency who are celebrating 20 years in business this year . The ceremony takes place in Dublin this Friday 21st June.
