Dominant Naomh Muire brush aside Red Hughs

Red Hughs 1-5 Naomh Muire 3-21

Naomh Muire shocked Red Hughs with a dominant display to take a comfortable win in Páirc Aodh Rua on Saturday.

The visitors were 17 points up as the clock hit the 30 minute mark with Red Hughs yet to register their first score, but they hit three quick points to leave it 3-8 to 0-3 at the break.

The visitors, unsurprisingly by the scoreline, were well on top from the start, with early points from Ultan Boyle and an Adam O’Brien mark, while Eoin Martin kicked over a free.

Straight after Martin’s free, Naomh Muire won the ball back from the kick out as they pushed up on the Red Hughs kickout, which proved fruitful time after time.

And as they won it back they had an overload bearing down on goal with a 3-on-1 but Paddy McCafferty took the shot on himself and blasted the ball into the net.
